Sylvester Researchers Use Powerful Screening Tools to Identify New Cancer-Inhibiting Compound

Using “big data” sets and powerful computational screening tools, researchers at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine have identified a compound that inhibits two different cellular targets in cancer. UHealth Physicians Link Cyberbullying to Inpatient Psychiatric Care Among South Florida Youth

A study conducted by child and adolescent psychiatrists with UHealth – the University of Miami Health System has shown that young people in South Florida who were admitted into inpatient psychiatric care for depression, anxiety and other mental health issues also suffered from significant rates of cyberbullying.

Inaugural ‘Shatter the Stigma’ Gala Raises Support for Treatment of Mental Health Disorders

In an effort to bring awareness to the approximately 61.5 million Americans who experience some form of mental illness each year, a first-of-its-kind gala was held recently to benefit the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The inaugural Shatter the Stigma gala was held October 8 to support the department’s research and programs.
