About the lab

Our goal is to understand how transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms, in particular mediated by long noncoding RNAs, regulate gene expression and biological processes such as neural development, and how their dysregulation impairs normal development and functioning of the brain and leads to disease.

Natural Antisense Transcripts (NATs) are a subtype of long noncoding RNAs that are able to regulate expression of mRNAs through cis and trans mechanisms by inducing locus-specific epigenetic changes
