The University of Miami has launched UM UNITES, an initiative to prevent college suicide and increase suicide prevention awareness in the UM community. UM Unites is funded by SAMHSA as one of many Campus Suicide Prevention Grants nationwide. The program works closely with the various student organizations and offices on campus committed to student wellbeing. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) has also partnered with UM Unites to implement an innovative web-based screening program designed specifically for UM students.
